Had a pair of the TB 1.0 and they were my favorite pants, but now these 2.0 are! Best fit of any pants I have! They are very comfortable and bonus my wife loves the way they look on me👍🏼 Great for ccw as well as on the trail or out for dinner. Highly recommend I ordered a second pair 5 mins after I put them on

First let me say I’m not a big guy. 5’8, 135lbs. Usually my issue with pants considered tactical or outdoorsy is being too baggy, so when I hear slim fit I get stoked. Initially I tried 30×30 and the waist was too big, no biggie. Exchanged for 28×30 and waist was perfect. Pocket layout is outstanding. Material is awesome. Everything from waist to knee was spot on. From knee down though, these are SKINNY pants. Like, they wrap my calves. I cant get the cuffs over my Vans Sk8-HI’s. I’m not a skinny jean wearer, so, I feel a bit ridiculous wearing them. I probably still will, since that seems to be the trend, and up top they are so perfectly functional, but I’m pretty bummed about it. I wanted to love these, but on me, they just dont look anything like they do in any of the pics or vids. And no, my iphone 8+ with magpul case does not fit in the zipper pocket, but I prefer the mag pocket for that anyway.

Thank you for the honest review. We take all feedback very seriously. We noticed that we get fewer issues on the pants being too “skinny legged” the larger the sizes, as your review was for a 28×30. Josh is going to look into the smaller waist sizes and how they are proportionate to the calves for the next round. We are also coming out with a standard fit in 2019. We are a start-up apparel company (AKA no red tape) and if you would like to talk to Josh about making the fit better on the next round, please email us at [email protected].

I don’t know anyone who bought these and I came across them randomly. The concepts is great and they seemed like great pants. I just got them In the mail today and at first look I loved them. I tried them on and discovered they are skinny jeans. I was planning on wearing them with hike boots when I hike and when I am off reading the problem is they don’t fit around the top of the boot. I look like a hipster. They are expensive and seemingly worth the money except they don’t fit comfortably at the bottom. They bunch up and I look like about to be in a dance off. I was planning on buying a second pair when they are back in stock but now I won’t unless it’s changed. The lower portion looks stupid to be blunt. They bunch up and are not practical. I like a nice boot cut style bottom so they look good with what ever shoe or boot I wear. Im not sure if this was an oversight or there was a reason for this but I’m not happy.

The material and the pockets are great tho. Super bummed. Maybe the 3.0 will be better? Or the 2.0 can be modified. I’m so bummed.

Scott, thanks for your honest review. We are coming out with a standard fit in 2019. Also, what we have found people have fewer issues with the “skinny legs” as the sizes get larger, I am not sure what size you ordered as we can’t find your email attached to an order in our system, probably used another email. Our designer is looking into the smaller waist sizes and how they are proportionate to the calves. If you would like to discuss the fit with our designer/co-owner, Josh, please email us at [email protected].

When I tried them on initially I felt they were too skinny. They don’t fit around my boot as well as I’d like but after washing them and wearing them all day I love them while up in Big Bear. I would change my star level if I could figure out how to. I’d leave a solid 4 on these pants. I think this company has great customer service and the pants have been amazing treking around this weekend. They are very comfortable. I can’t wait for maybe a boot cut but I’d buy another pair now if they were available. Sorry for the hard first review I love them now

I’ve worn Carhartts for the last 10 years because of durability and having the pockets I need. These feel like gym pants compared to my Carharrts and my wife actually likes the way they look which is always a plus. They are much thinner than Carharrts and much more expensive so I’m curious to see how they last. The left leg pocket is useless however. The only thing that fits is a small money clip, and it takes two hands to operate the zipper. I also don’t like that it swings in the pantleg and is not sewn down. I would like to see the 3.0 with a functional left leg pocket. At least an inch taller with a snap or velcro type closure that can be operated with one hand. Thankfully the mag pockets fit my phone or a pair of pliers great! Overall good pants. If they last as well as my Carharrts I will probably buy more in the future. If not they will be too expensive to be worth it.

Overall, great pants. I’ve got muscular glutes and legs and unlike some other reviewers here I don’t have any issues with the cut of the pants on the whole. In fact, they’re pretty damned perfect without being baggy. However, like a couple other people have noted, the leg openings are too small for hiking boots. I can get these around my winter hiking boots (thicker padding than my regular hiking boots), but it’s a tight fit – Would do well with a boot cut, so the pants fall normally around the boot without impacting the overall cut – I think a regular cut would make these look sloppy.

    LOVE the pockets.

After a field test day … Very happy with these pants.
      Couple thoughts:
Thigh Pocket – I have no issue opening and closing the zipper with one hand. I also like that the zipper effectively keeps the pocket hidden when not in use — a velcro or a snap enclosure would not do this. The zipper classes up the pants to a certain degree. That being said, it fits my iPhone X perfectly and I cannot imagine carrying a larger phone on my thigh – why on earth would you want to? Ok. This pocket still needs to be sewn in (at least on the top margin) — Any weight at all causes the pocket to sag and shift during movement.
Styling — 1) I like the modern fit. However, the back pocket styling belongs on a pair of 1970’s overalls. I get that these are supposed to be utilitarian, but they don’t need to look like I’m about to milk cows. Pockets are set very wide and have negligible styling. 2) I don’t want to see these get re designed with wider leg openings (regular fit/ boot-cut). I want to see a second version of these pants with a regular fit / boot-cut — Trailblazer 3.0 slim and Trailblazer 3.0 boot-cut.

I had the 1.0 version and they were pretty nice. A little thin in the material and the legs were a bit snug (probably my own issue though because I’ve got the legs of Zeus himself). These 2.0 pants are amazing! Great fit around thighs, butt, and they nailed the calf circumference. Fits perfectly around my boots and is not too baggy without them. Pockets are perfect depth, knee bend is super comfortable and the overall material feels much more sturdy! These are the pants I’ve always been looking for. Perfect for both casual and tactical situations! 👍🏻

These are awesome. Love the ruggedness of the canvas WITH some stretch. Since they have a more tailored fit these really are “do anything” pants.

My only gripe is the length. Even after following the wash guide (super cool of them to do) they shrunk a little in the length. I where a 34” inseam and at 6’4” need every bit of it.

OTG – Please offer a 36” inseam. Us taller lean and mean guys beg you.

When I saw the video release of these pants, I was freaking excited. I thought YES!! these are the pants I’ve been looking for. the overall cut is not very appealing and I REALLY wanted to love these pants to, with all of its features and pockets. I’m a HUGE fan of pockets as I always tell my wife they call me Lui pockets.

    1. the bottom portion is too skinny legged for my liking.
    2. the pant cut from the knees up is TOO BAGGY a la MC Hammer pant
    3. the large side zip up valuables pocket doesn’t fit my iphone 8plus in an otterbox case.
    4. the portion as to where the knife is supposed to sit, doesn’t fit. I use an older Spyderco with a plastic clip and it only fits the not double fabric portion of the pocket. at this point its too far forward.

The mag pockets are freaking awesome and is the #1 reason as to why I wanted these pants to work out as if it did I would of ordered every color and possibly multiples. I was hoping these would replace my jeans. lmk when the standard cut arrives.

Thank you for the honest review. We take all feedback very seriously. We understand that the fit is not for everyone. Josh, our designer decided to go with it as there is not much like it in the market and a lot of people have loved it. Standard fits are pretty easy to come by in an adventure pant. BUT with that said, we have heard the comments loud and clear and we WILL come out with a standard fit in 2019 in this same fabric, including all the same features. We tried to show the fit in the video(model is wearing a 32×32), but with a size run from 28” to 42” it would be hard to get it right for every body type. We noticed that we get fewer issues on the pants being too “skinny legged” the larger the sizes, as your review was for a 31×30. We are a start-up apparel company (AKA no red tape) and if you would like to talk to our designer/co-owner about the standard fit cut to make sure we get it right, please email us at [email protected]. We want to try to make everyone happy. We are also taking into consideration your other concerns. Thanks again for taking the time to share.

I hate them because they have ruined me to wear any other pants! I not only appreciate the fit (having skinny legs they fit perfect) I enjoy the design/pockets etc. I recently went to Bass Pro Shop to get something similar since OTG is back ordered. Picked up a couple pairs but they don’t compare to OTG 2.0’s
I will have to wait and hope I don’t wear out the pair I have.

These pants fit awesome. Got them as a gift for Christmas and wasn’t too sure if I liked them or not. Then I put them on. Whoa. These are my favorite pants and I the only reason I don’t wear them everyday is because my wife said I was going to be the weird guy that never changed his pants. Starting to think I don’t mind being the weird guy.

Full disclosure: i have not even worn these camping or off-roading yet but I can tell you that they are some of the most comfortable work pants I own. I work at a major big box retailer in the So Cal area and these have become my go-to work pants (I own 2 pairs of Trailblazer 2.0’s in 32×30 and 31×30). I love the fit and all the pockets. The cut and slightly stretchy material is perfect for bending, crouching, stocking pallets and then maybe some tree-climbing after work. The look is casual and presentable enough to transition to running a cash register up front or going out for dinner with my fam after work. Eager to add gray or another color) and/or a shorts version to my rotation.

Two suggestions: The reinforced pocket area for clipping an EDC knife is a great idea but slightly too thick in my experience. I have trained my Mossy Oak box cutter to fit over it but my Gerber Crucial Multi-tool doesn’t want to budge. (I believe this has been addressed in the 3.0’s). The other thing is the zip stash pocket is welcome but I have found that it doesn’t quite work with my phone…it works but feels awkward. The truth is, I haven’t encountered anyone that is making an elegant stash pocket for todays oversized phones.

Great investment. Don’t hesitate, these are easily worth the price!

I have worn plenty of pants and jeans out there. From uniforms to Levi’s I haven’t had anything as comfortable out of the box as the Trailblazers. Finally a pant designed for someone to slip their tree trunks into and get to work. Great build quality and even better fit. Got to give it to Bobby who reached out and helped me fix and issue with my order as well. Great customer service. As soon as they get their other colors in stock I’ll be making additional purchases!!

You have GOT to be kidding me! I have an absolute nightmare trying to find pants worth wearing that actually fit right. I bought these pants as a ‘hey, I’m going to be under my jeep so who cares” pants. They fit perfectly and now I can’t take ’em off. I was even working on my vehicle and slit the crotch with a razor blade. I thought, well that is the end of those pants….NOPE! I put them through the washer and the whole hasn’t gotten any bigger. In only 2 weeks I’ve put these through such a ringer I had no choice but to buy another pair for actually wearing out on the town. The wife always takes it personal when I go out with a hole in my crotch. LOVE THESE DAMN PANTS WOOOOOO!

The legs below the knees are too skinny. Can not comfortably wear a pair of boots with these pants. I was disappointed in that because I got these pants to wear at work.
Other than that, the 2.0’s are a comfortable pant. And the pockets are great.

Anthony, thanks for your review, we take all reviews very seriously. This current fit of the 2.0’s isn’t for every use case, BUT we do have a standard (more boot cut) fit, we are calling the 3.1’s which are landing in July/August of this year. A limited preorder will start in May for them. It is a value of ours to always update our products based on customer feedback, this was one of the ONLY negative remarks concerning the 2.0’s, so we fixed it. Thank you for your patience and please let us know if you would like to return your pair for a full refund.

I really liked all of the pockets and reinforced areas, but the pant legs are so tapered that they are skinny/snug. Also after wearing them and washing them the first time I can’t even wear them anymore as they got even tighter and wrinkled even following the care directions.

      Matt –

We are sorry about your experience with our pants, seems like you would be a better fit for the 3.1 standard fits we are releasing in July, or you may need to size up, either way we will take care of you to get you in the right size. As for the wrinkling, because of the cotton material, if they are washed in a highly filled washer machine and/or dryer which does not allow the garment to move very well, it will create wrinkles. We do not claim these to be wrinkle free and you may need to iron. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will get you in the right pair.

I wear a pair of these pants almost every day. I love the cut of the pants and the fabric is a great blend of durable but not restricting. I wear these pants to do everything. At the office, working in the garage, out around town, and at the range, they look awesome and have the functionality I need. Last count I think I own at six pairs, and they are going strong after over a year of wearing one of them almost every day.

Great fit. The pockets on the thighs are just about useless for a phone. My iPhone 6S in a Otter box case doesn’t fit and that’s a small phone. The zipper pocket is way too small for any use and reinforced area for clips is small. I carry my Benchmade on my hip but even my Streamlight pen light barely stays on the reinforced pocket area. That being said this are VERY comfortable pants and will be ordering a second pair. The mag pocket is great for concealed carry mags.

Purchased a pair of 1.0 back in March of this year. Wore them on the JP Dirt & Drive and during Easter Jeep Safari. Left them in the hotel when we left Moab, ughhh! So disappointed I ordered two more pair when I got home, this time the 2.0. One tan, one gray. Just arrive this weekend. What a great design. What I liked was the way they fit when you are behind the wheel off road for 10-12 hours a day. The 2.0 are even more comfortable. Way to go! Can’t wait fo the next product.

With this purchase of the 2.0 these will be my 3rd pair of trailblazers. They are hands down my favorite pants I own. I wear them off duty and basically everywhere. They’re comfortable and functional. Like most others say. Very comfortable for CCW, I carry IWB plus a full-size folder and spare mag they work perfectly for me. I did not upsize to carry iwb. The 2.0s fit exactly the same as the originals. I wish I got a few more on the presale. I usually don’t review clothing items but I really believe in this brand.

Never thought I would be writing a review on pants….
I probably should be waiting to review the new TB 2.0 until I’ve been able to truly put them to the test; but so far I’m thoroughly impressed! After wearing the new pants today I can now see why the TB 1.0s sold out. The construction, the large pockets, the fit are all spot on! I own other pants made by Kuhl, Parana, and Columbia and had high expectations from the start. I can honestly say these are hands down my new favorite! I like them so much I just ordered 2 more pair! First off, let me make yall aware of something. I have tried no less than 9 different brands and styles of a work/tactical pant. As a chef for work and avid outdoorsman for pleasure, a pant that can 1) hold all the things needed for said activity 2) is durable (usually roll through a pair of chef pants every 4-5 months) 3) fits well and 4) transitions from the kitchen to the bar to the trails to the camp. Well those pants just dont exist really. Until now. I missed out on purchasing a pair of TB 1’s but i could not ignore the ads and hype that was built around the tb2’s. And let me tell you guys they live up to the hype and then some! Gonna give them a few more days to really break in before i buy another pair just to be 100 on sizing, but so for its spot on! Good job otg!

Saw these guys are OverLand Expo West and was excited to get my butt in a pair of these pants. Preordered the 2.0s in June and they arrived today. Got home and put them on. Feel and fit great. Plenty of room and stretch to move. I’ve got big atheletic glutes and thighs and it’s very hard for me to find comfortable pants. Can’t wait to wear them all weeken wheeling and shooting. My big disappointment however is that not a single one of my carry knives fits the silly pocket reinforcement. Benchmade, ZT, Kershaw, Gerber not one will make it over the fabric and clip. Can’t even do it with two hands. I am not willing to compromise and stretch the spring out of the clips. I can carry in one of the lower right leg pockets but that’s certianly not ideal. Guess I’ll have to shop for a new knife that fits just these pants.

Thank you for your honest review. Our designer, Josh, tested the pants with a Kershaw CQKC6, but of course, he uses his knife every day so it may be more worn into allowing movement over the fabric. A brand new knife will likely have trouble due to the thickness of the pants and clearly, you are also having trouble with your knives (quite the collection, btw). There are a couple options to help remedy this… 1. Clamping down the fabric for a period of time to reduce the thickness or 2. Remove the rear fold-over of the knife patch at the top with a seam ripper and scissors as that will likely do the trick. We will keep our eye on this issue and if it seems to continue to be a problem we will make the adjustment on the next round, it is very important to us to get these just right. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.

As a TB1.0 Coyote owner, I was super stoked to learn about the 2.0 feature upgrades, the new color choice Grey, and to continue “shopping local” by supporting a San Diego based small business. I really dig the TB2.0 Grey color; perfect for a work office environment where Business Casual is required. Wearing both 1.0 and 2.0 (both 34 x 32) in a side by side type comparison, either I lost weight (nice) or got shorter (?) as the TB2.0 seem longer in length and have more room in the waist. Not a big deal as I can wear them with a belt, and perhaps they will shrink down with a few wash cycles. I like that the rear two main pockets seem larger, and now there are two, symmetric rear hip pockets. I think these are supposed to be for firearm magazines, but I am not a shooter, so whatever. However, my iPhone 6s in a case fits quite well in them. I also like that the inside cuffs have more boot abrasion protection material as I like to hike in these pants. The 2% elasticity is great for being flexible and provides a good range of motion. Well done to the entire OTG Team!

I pre-ordered these pants sometime ago and they finally came in. I put them on and there are tight in the legs, not quite skinny jean but pretty close. I am not a fat guy and don’t have big legs. Actually I am pretty skinny in the arms and legs. The top part where the pockets are is nice and it isn’t to tight so putting things into them is easy. My other complaint is that “large” media pocket is pretty small. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and won’t even come close to fitting into it. Also my media pocket was sewn close, I had to rip the thread just to open it. Truthfully I am disappointed in these 70 dollar pants, had I not got them online and I was able to try them on the store I would have passed on these. Lucky for Off the Grid, I don’t want to mess with returning them. If you like you pants to be tight then you will probably like these.

Scott, thank you for your honest review, from our records you ordered two 32×30’s in grey and coyote. We would like to look into this further. Do they both fit the same way? The fact that the media pocket was sewn shut, makes us think that maybe you received a defective pair. Did you wash and dry the pants? When you say media pocket, do you mean the zippered pocket on the side or the mag pockets on the rear? Also, If you don’t mind sending us measurements of the pants? OR We can send you a prepaid return label for us to research your case. We are sorry you are not happy with them, we are happy to refund your money, just get them back to us. Thank you!

As soon as I pulled a pair on I knew these pants were different from the rest. I had a sudden urge to hop in my truck and explore a remote Sierra trail or run through the house throwing ninja kicks at inanimate objects! I basically felt badass. The fit is snug but does not restrict movement. In fact, the fit makes you want to move. The pre-bent knee shape begs you to do something, be active, do anything except sit around. Yet even when sitting or bent in akward angles the pants stretch and give. They allow you to complete movements without pre-adjusting (hiking up by the waist or from below the knee) like I have to do with my other “work brand” outdoor pants. I know, I’m being dramatic but I’ve tried so many different pants that claim to be fit for an active lifestyle but fail in some way. To finally find a pant that checks all the boxes for what I consider ideal is such a joy. I did notice my Galaxy S9+ will not fit in the zippered pocket but I don’t like carrying my phone that low on my leg anyway (I’ve cracked screens hitting rocks). The main front pockets are more than adaquate to keep my phone safe and handy. The fit is pretty slim but not so slim that you’ll be mistaken for a hipster barista at Starbucks. I’m 6’3″ 180lbs about bought 32″×34″. The is fit perfect. Those with big muscular legs should expect a tight fit in the thighs.

I picked up a pair at this years Overland Expo East. So comfortable! I prefer them over my favorite jeans now! I just ordered a second pair and hope to get more once they are available in my size. They fit true to size and stretch. They have a nice modern cut but I wouldn’t call them “skinney”, they are just right. You nailed it OTG!

I have been on a mission to find the best pair of pants for any occasion. Weather on a construction site, out on the trails, or out to dinner, these pants look and feel fantastic. All of the pockets add the functionality of my now second favorite Duluth trading co. Pants with the comfort of sweat pants. The fit and finish down to the triple stitching and OTG rivets are second to none. I can’t wait to acquire more of these pants in the future and put them to the test! Well done OTG, keep up the good work and go for the 3.0!

I got these yesterday and was amazed at the quality and workmanship on these pants. I test drove them at work today and can say they have officially replaced my favorite work pants. Durable with convienently places pockets, these help keep my stuff secure and out of the way when throwing kegs or climbing the brewhouse. I’ll definitely need another pair.

Just wanted to drop a updated bit of info now that I have worn the TB 2.0 a few times. Without a doubt the best pair of pants I own period. I just got back from a day of hiking and goofing off in Harpers Ferry WV, I carried 2 blades ( blade clip fit fine on the pocket) a flashlight a tourniquet , my wallet , truck keys and phone. Normally I also appendix carry a G19, and these TB 2.0s are absolutely bomber. No other pair of pants even my TB1.0 are as comfortable carrying all that gear. Super great job OTG 👍🏼 Another thing I really like is the from pockets are big enough that even with pocket knife/flashlight you can still get your hand easily in the pocket 👍🏼👍🏼
First impression was great but now with some actual use… if you need actual function with good looks you will be very well served by the TB 2.0 Highly Recommended

Excellent job OTG! I was excited for their arrival and talk about expectations being pleasantly blown away. Perfect grey is what I received just last week and have already worn them twice. Haven’t put em through any real outdoor tests, but otherwise so far so good. These are very comfortable pants and the deep pockets, as well as plenty other pocket choices, are perfect for all my EDC items. The construction is tops all the way down to the awesome detail of the button and rivets. These bad boys are my favorite pair of pants, for now, since I plan on picking up black and coyote.

I’ve been going back n forth between tactical and outdoor pants looking for something I can’t quite describe. Tried these out and they are answering exactly what I’m looking for! They stretch, comfy and fit and seem like they’ll wear well. These will likely replace my Kuhl’s and Fjallravens that replaced my TAD’s, will test them out over the next few months and see, then get the other color(s). Impressive. If your on the fence, I vote yes – just buy ’em!

I pre ordered two Paris and I’m more than happy with both. The pre bent knees are fantastic for lots of up and down movement. I love the extra wear zone for carrying a knife. I will probably wear these everyday during the cold seasons. Thanks for such an amazing product!

Received my pants today and while I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the design and the quality of the materials, I am disappointed with the fit. I am a solid 35-36 waist depending on the pant so I ordered a 36 as OTG doesn’t offer a 35 in the 2.0. The pants engulf me and sit well below my hips making for a shlubby look. Any Other pants in a 36 will fit with a bit of play but nothing like these. I’m not sure if I got a 38 marked as a 36 or if the sizing is just off on these but there’s just no way I can keep these pants as much as I like the material/deisgn. I thought about returning these and trying a 34 but I’m gun shy as I would have to pay return shipping for these and for the 34s if they don’t work. That’s a total of $10-15 in shipping for nothing . . . Wish OTG offered free shipping or returns to make it less of a gamble. Anyway, good pants, but for me, a lousy fit.

5’11 here 185lbs. I bought a pair of size 33×32 and out of the bag they fit perfect. Not to baggy and not to tight. Im loving the extra pockets. Mag pocket puts my photo where I’ve always wanted to carry it. I will definitely be buying more.
