How to Care For Your Trailblazer 2.0 Pants

We have had amazing feedback from the launch of the Trailblazer 2.0's. Now that they are in your hands we wanted to put out a post on what you can expect from the 2.0's and how to care for them. We will be addressing several concerns and be giving detailed info, so please read thoroughly.   WASHING The Off The Grid Trailblazer 2.0’s are made from 98% cotton and 2% spandex, you can wash and dry them according to the methods for the most dominant fiber type, cotton. The recommended care instructions on the tag state to machine wash cold with like colors, and Josh put that on there as 'worst-case' scenario, as washer temps vary. But they should be fine to machine-wash them in warm water with a cold rinse, as preset by your washing machine. The more important instructions are going to be with how you dry them...see below.   DRYING We want you to get the most out of your Trailblazer 2.0 Pants and so we would like to share our recommendations for drying. As you can see from the image above we recommend to Tumble Dry Low. On some occasions, when drying spandex on high heat, it can break or melt the spandex and cause bubbling in the fabric, so to ensure this does not happen to you do not dry on high heat.   DRYING AND SHRINKAGE The 2.0's are a cotton pant and will shrink in the dryer depending on how hot the cycle is. If you like the fit of your pants, DO NOT dry on regular or high heat. As you can see from above we recommend drying on Tumble Dry Low. On this recommended setting (Tumble Dry Low), they will tighten up a bit, but this is normal and wear will stretch them back out. Our pants do run long when compared to others (before drying). We did this on purpose because we found drying them on a regular setting will shrink the length (about 3/4'' on a 32'' inseam) which is about to standard. Even though we DO NOT recommend this dry setting on a regular basis, if you do need to shrink the pants length a bit you can do this once, but then dry on low heat for the remainder of the life of the pants. Due to the qualities of spandex, not following recommended drying instructions may cause deformities in the fabric and could compromise durability and longevity. We want you to get the most out of your Trailblazer 2.0's!   EXAMPLE The below image is a Trailblazer 2.0 32x32 preshrunk and a shrunk pair after a running through a regular temp dryer (again only do this once to shrink pants, then follow recommended drying instructions). You can see that the length is mostly affected, but the overall fit is closer to the body as well. We found the waist remains close to the same, with minimal shrinkage.
