OUR HISTORY
I started Off The Grid in 2012 after more than 20 years in the industry, where I got tired of watching great gear get watered down. Big brands kept stripping out the features that actually mattered—cutting corners to hit a price tag, not to build something better for you.
That didn’t sit right with me.
So in 2018, I went all in. Off The Grid became my full-time mission: build gear the way it’s supposed to be built—no compromises, no shortcuts, no dialing it back.
Off The Grid isn’t just a phrase or a destination—it’s a state of mind. It’s about stepping away, even if just for an afternoon or a weekend. It’s about disconnecting from the daily grind, decompressing, and reconnecting with the outdoors.

In 2017, Off the Grid Surplus introduced the Trailblazer Pants—designed with the off-road lifestyle in mind and built to handle whatever the day throws your way. By combining the best elements of outdoor, workwear, and tactical design, the Trailblazers deliver a versatile, durable pant that transitions seamlessly from everyday wear to rugged terrain.
The response was immediate. The Trailblazer Pants sold out within six weeks—and then sold out again, and again—quickly earning their place as a trusted staple for those who rely on gear that performs without compromise.
